Air France - Sky Team

Families & children

Are you traveling as a family? Air France takes great care to ensure you are comfortable on board: special meals for infants and children, games, gifts, etc. Our cabin crew makes sure your flight will
be a truly pleasant experience!

Reduced fares

In certain cases, children accompanied by an adult can receive fare reductions of up to:
  • 50% on domestic flights,
  • 33% on medium and long-haul flights

Pre-flight preparation

Most likely, your child will wish to bring along a small bag containing belongings. Prior to departure, consider helping pack familiar items that your child would like to have during flight, such as favorite books, stuffed animals, blanket, etc.
In addition, remember to bring a piece of candy or chewing gum to help reduce possible earaches during take-off and landing.

Strollers

Are you traveling with a child of at least 2 years of age? You can transport a foldable stroller (maximum size: 15 x 30 x 100 cm / 5.9 x 11.8 x 39.4 in.) in addition to your baggage allowance at no extra charge. This type of stroller is accepted
in the cabin on long-haul flights*, as long as enough space is available in the overhead compartments.

* Except for long-haul flights to Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Saint Martin, Cayenne, Réunion, Seychelles, Mauritius, Punta Cana, Havana, Santo Domingo.

Travel companions

Children* must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. However, travel companions may be younger than 18 years of age if they are the child's father, mother, or legal guardian.
The child and accompanying passenger must travel in the same cabin. If not, the child will be considered an unaccompanied minor (UM).

* Up to 12 years of age for flights in metropolitan France and flights to/from French overseas departments and territories, and up to 15 years of age for international flights.

Meals

On all flights of 2 ½ hours or more, children receive meals adapted to their tastes and needs. In addition, their meat or fish is pre-sliced for an easy-to-eat meal! Beginning at 9 years of age, children are served "like grown-ups". However,
they may still opt for the children's menu if they wish. Remember to request the children's menu when booking your trip, purchasing your flight, or at least 24 hours before departure.

Gifts

On intercontinental flights, children will receive a set of gifts to make their trip enjoyable and fun. These gifts may include crayons, coloring books, games, and more.
They can also listen to music channels, play video games, and watch cartoons or children's movies. Children have
all they need for rest and entertainment!
Children's items may also be purchased through the onboard boutique: stuffed animals, inflatable airplanes, dolls, and more.
