Here's an address that connoisseurs share, a place where you will find many regulars and well-informed visitors for lunch. Chef José Avillez now runs this restaurant after working in the kitchens of the Bristol in Paris and the 3 Michelin star El Bulli in Catalonia.
After his many apprenticeships, José Avillez settled in Lisbon where he served Portuguese cuisine nicely imprinted with his travels. Today he shares his experience at Cantino do Avillez. On the menu: candied tuna with ginger and house mayonnaise, the famous Francesinha – a typical dish made with linguiça – fresh sausage, ham and beef – or veal risotto with cherry tomatoes, watercress and cheese slivers. For a sweet note, try the local specialty: ‘Toucinho do céu', custard with raspberry sorbet.
