In the Santa Monica hills

Fifty miles from the bustle of Los Angeles, the Santa Monica Mountains rise proudly above the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Do you dare to venture there?

From the Hollywood Hills, they extend from east to west to Point Mugu in Ventura County, 64 kilometres of a mountain range that divides the City of Angels into two territories: to the north, the San Fernando Valley and, to the south, the Los Angeles Basin. The Santa Monica Mountains belong to the famous Transverse Ranges, framed by the Californian coastal chains, the Tehachapi Mountains and the Coachella Valley. On clear days, the sky illuminates the mossy greenery and leafy trees that cover the hills, and at nightfall, stars reflect in the black water of the ocean.

If you are looking for athletic activities, the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area invites you to various excursions: hiking, biking, horseback riding, rock climbing and camping should delight your kids with their overflowing energy.
