A unique bistro-café hybrid, this American-style coffee shop offers fare all day, no matter the time. Located in Paris' 9th arrondissement, the Coucou Café reinvents the café concept by showing off its range of culinary delights, which change over the course of the day. From the chestnut bar to the dried flowers that top the tables, the restaurant emanates a warm and rustic atmosphere. Whether for breakfast, an afternoon break, a late lunch, a happy hour between colleagues over a glass of wine and a platter of cold cuts, or just a quick coffee, the hustle and bustle of Coucou's clientele does not stop from open until close.
At lunchtime, the frequently changing menu includes three options (meat, fish, and vegetarian) - like the beef gravlax with tomatoes, roasted peaches, and verbena; the scorpion fish; the tom kha kai (a spicy Thai soup) of baby new potatoes and cherry tomatoes; or the white asparagus, lemon foam, and grilled rice. Plus, the Coucou Café takes care of its clients in a hurry: each of its midday specials transforms into a sandwich for a quick bite that tickles the taste buds. Along with the daily specials, each afternoon offers a pastry for the sweet-toothed among us. At the end of the day, when it is time for the apéritif, the establishment offers a large biodynamic wine selection, including natural wines to be enjoyed in moderation.
